Our Team

After an extensive renovation in 2007, Cataraqui Pet Grooming became Kingston’s premier pet spa: Are You A Dirty Dog? The salon provides unsurpassed service in a caring, professional environment. Located in Cataraqui Pet Centre, between Urban Paws and Cataraqui Pet Hospital the salon complements the pet services we provide.

Groomers Erika,  Kaitlyn, and Jenn, and Grooming Assistants Rikki and Ashley, are committed to meeting the individualized needs of the guests at our salon. Dogs enjoy the stress-minimizing, cage-free environment, and socialize before and after their appointment, while cats are housed separately.

Rikki, Pet Stylist

From a very young age, Rikki always felt a deep and special connection with animals of all shapes and sizes. Raised on a small farm in rural Selby, it did not take her long to realize that she could see no other future than one that was based around the creatures that had taught her so much responsibility and respect: dogs. In 2010, Rikki moved to Kingston to pursue an opportunity at a local dog kennel where she spent 2 years sharpening her canine behaviour and grooming skills. During her time, Rikki found the most pleasure in the one-on-one time she spent bathing, brushing, and attending to the grooming needs of the dogs in her care. It was this that made her realize, that though she did enjoy being a kennel attendant, her true passion lay in grooming. In the spring of 2012, after completing schooling, Rikki applied for an open position at Dirty Dog, and it was not long before she found herself part of an amazing team. Ever since, Rikki has been consistently pushing to expand her knowledge and skills; aiming for an end goal of becoming a certified Professional Pet Stylist.

Ashley B, Grooming Assistant

Hello, fellow pet lovers. I'm Ashley, a grooming assistant at Are You A Dirty Dog. Since joining the pet grooming salon team in August of 2017, I have devoted myself to the cleanliness and well-being of our furry clients. After two years of volunteering at a vet hospital, I discovered my passion for the field of grooming, and as I enjoy my current position, I also look forward to becoming a pet stylist in the future.
